Master Mode: What to Expect

Gold Lynel Fight Screen Shot

Here's a list of Master Mode's differences:

Golden Bokoblin
  1. Master Mode only has one autosave slot (unlike Normal Mode's five).
  2. Enemies regenerate health shortly after taking damage, recovering up to 30% of their max hp at a rate of around 3% per second.
  3. Shrine enemies recover up to 20% of their max health at a rate of 1% per second.
  4. Enemies are more sensitive to Link's stealth moves
  5. Additional floating platforms with enemies and chests are placed throughout the map. The chests contain weapons and elemental/bomb arrows. They come with bombokin, moblin, lizalfos, and lynels enemy spawns.
  6. A white-maned lynel spawn near the Old Man's Hut in the Great Plateau.
  7. A new highest tier of enemy: gold. Bokoblins, moblins, lizalfos, and lynels all can spawn in gold form.
  8. Most enemies with tiers will be found leveled up one tier.
  9. The compendium contains four new slots for photos of the new gold enemies. Symin in Hateno sells them as elite photos, alongside bossfights and silver enemies.
  10. Additional weapons are added in Trial of the Sword.
  11. Guardians now have a random element, introducing a delay between their targeting beam and laser blast to make shield parrying more difficult.
  12. Unlike in normal mode, a one hit death is possible from full health.
  13. To remind you that you're playing in a different mode, you'll spot a triforce in the lower left corner of your screen and loading screens are red instead of white.

  4. Pick one low-powered heavy item as a dedicated crate/barrel/box smasher.
  5. Utilize the aerial slow motion feature by jumping off cliffs, trees, and horses to make it rain arrows!
  6. Eliminate Bow and Spear enemies first.
  7. Blow up explosive barrels at every opportunity.
  8. Inventory management: Continuously toss the weakest weaopons.

  10. Save the Blizzard Rod and Meteor Rods for the final level to handle mounted enemies.
